We are Austin's professional organization for LGBT and allied legal professionals. Our purposes are:

1) to promote education on issues relating to LGBT law;
2) to study and report on laws, decisions, and governmental regulations as they may affect the rights, responsibilities, and needs of LGBT people;
3) to provide a common forum for individuals interested in the legal issues of LGBT people; and
4) to raise the profile and acceptance of LGBT individuals within the legal community and serve as examples for professionalism.

As part of our service to the community, we assist members of the UT-Austin School of Law's LGBT student organization - OUTLaw - through a mentor program linking legal practitioners with students. We also assist through résumé review days, in which our members offer feedback and guidance to students, with special attention given to considerations of being “out” in the job search process.

Collaboration has been a hallmark of our organization. The Austin Bar Association’s Board of Directors recently voted to create a seat for the group, and the nascent organization has fostered strong ties with the LGBT Law Section of the State Bar of Texas. Our members are volunteering with Equality Texas, the statewide equal rights organization, in addition to partnering with the Austin LGBT Chamber of Commerce on their 15th anniversary party.
